01 ANNUAL SPORTS MEET 2019-20

Annual Sports Day was held in our school on Thursday, 14 November 2019 for classes Nursery to class XII.  It was a fun filled day comprising track events, mass drill and other inter-house competitions.
The day began with the welcome ceremony of the Chief Guest,, Prof. P.N. Mehrotra, President, Tagore Public School for the morning session. The session included track events and Pre-Primary races.  
The Chief Guest for the afternoon session was Prof. R. K. Upadhyay, former Head of Department for Defence Studies. Madam Kaveri Adhikari, Principal, Tagore Public School accorded an official welcome to the Chief Guest. The afternoon session started with the March Past led by the school Head Boy, Garvit Agarwal,and School Head Girl, Kavya Singh followed by the four houses, Geetanjali, Chitra, Varsha and Lipika with their respective captains. The students marched to the beat of the drum and it was a real treat for the eyes to see such coordination and discipline. The oath was administered by the Sports Captain, Mohd. Affanuddin and Muskan Agarwal. Surya Namaskar, comprising of twelve Yoga Asanas, beneficial for health was demonstrated by the students of classes IV and V. Rhythmic aerobic dance a musical way to fitness set the field on fire. The mass drill by the girls of class 6-8 enthused the spectators, young and old to dance and exercise simultaneously. The track events of various categories were cheered by the enthusiastic supporters of respective houses. Tug-o-War between the two qualifying teams was enjoyed by one and all present there. The winning team for the Tug-O-War, for both boys and girls category was Varsha House. Display of Pyramids by all the four houses was indeed a visual treat. The first position for pyramid formation was shared by three houses, i.e., Geetanjali, Varsha and Chitra. Varsha House bagged the first position for best March Past. The shield for Discipline was awarded to Lipika House.
On an overall basis,Varsha House, followed by Geetanjali House bagged the second position, while Lipika House and Chitra House won the third and Fourth position respectively. Neelesh Mishra and Priyanshi Mishra were declared as champions in the Junior category whereas Mohd Adnan, Poorvi Malviya  and Varsha Verma were the champions in the Senior category. All the winners were felicitated with trophies, medals and certificates. Vote of thanks was proposed by a senior sports teacher..On the whole, it was a well managed and organized event.
